Hour 18 of plowing through dozens and dozens of half finished panels.
When I sat down to start this project I was really energized and had lots of ideas flowing, so I just did a ton of half finished pages to get ideas out as quickly as I could while they were happening since I tend to struggle with writing. The problem is, it keeps happening once or twice a week so I have about 75 pages in various states of writing and inking on my desk.
It gets discouraging to spend 12 to 24 hour chunks of time for a week straight really laying in inks and pencils and sometimes have no finished pages to show for it.
So this morning when I woke up I sat aside a pile of pages that were really close to completion, and now have 12 newly finished sheets in my ready to scan drawer and I feel like a million dollars.
I also lost my favorite dip pen holder while visiting my girlfriend before I started drawing any of this Teen Wizard stuff. As someone who is superstitious and ritualistic with my work habits, it has really been bothering me a lot more than it should. I feel like a wizard using a borrowed broken wand. The magic still happens, but it feels all wrong. I might take ten dollars from the packs I have been selling and get myself a new lucky holder.
On that note THANK everyone for the orders. I still have some big packs left on my store, but I really didn’t expect this many people to want them this quickly. I will make a post about it again today, but I am doing custom drawings I usually charge 25-30 dollars for all off the orders that have been made already and any others I get.
I love drawing more than anything, and it’s incredibly validating that other people like it enough to give me their hard earned money for it. Especially since I have received orders from two people I have been a GIGANTIC asshole too in the past for no good reason who I really don’t deserve getting support from. I’m working on that.
