Uploading three pages from issue three throughout the day.

Usually I think making lists is just fancy procrastination.

But damn.

Teen Wizard relaunches online in about two weeks. Jerk punk kids, depressed ghosts, asshole wizards, judgmental pigeons, violent disputes over anime, dogs with beards, hella skulls just laying around, writers block caused by haunted pencils, amateur satanists, and more stuff I like. I am actually VERY excited.

Feeling a lot better about this new vision for the strip. I was supposed to draw it super simply so I could crank them out, but I just can’t not draw and draw and draw so I will never be able to get to 80 percent of the strips I really want to draw onto paper, especially since I want to do some short graphic novel type things this year. I may actually blow up these strips and re ink them with a brush before launch. I am actually toying with the idea of looking into a collaborative side comic where we both write, and one person pencils and the other inks. Talking to some people, but if you might want to try something feel free to shoot me an email. I am looking for something specific, but it doesn’t hurt to try.

Oh god I love drawing.

I love you,

Anonymous asked:
do more flash that incorporates 1. loyalty 2. keystones 3. volcanoes or 4. harpoons. also if you could explore the idea of trusting everyone but trusting no one I'd like that too. Thanks!

Besides volcanoes The other stuff isn’t “firing” me up right now. I am likely going to spend an hour reading about volcanoes now though. ;( Also, I usually like to just see what happens when I draw flash since I do it to relax and take breaks from my less flexible projects. I have actually been having wrist issues, so I can’t really draw anything that isn’t my comic or a commission these days.

If you would like a piece of custom flash or piece of art done I genuinely enjoy doing those and actually have time to take on small cheap commissions this month and am trying to raise money to print new books pretty soon. I can be reached at teenwizardcomic@gmail.com , and there is no harm in seeing of our interests are in line enough to work together.

Love you!

The one where there is a misunderstanding involving anime.

Classic.

The one where a wizard does a spell on a dead bird.

Classic.

Extreme stress, no sleep, happiest I have ever been, rush to get a big ass book done before comic con starts….

Now.

Weekly stream on conscious blog thing #200

To ease some concerns, Teen Wizard isn’t totally dead. It just isn’t something that works the way I have been publishing it. It will be coming back as a far looser daily comic the way I had originally intended to draw it. The strips sketches I have been posting lately are what Teen Wizard will be. Honestly, I think it’s a step up.

I will also be releasing a batch of unpublished Teen Wizard material that was intended for issue three in Hive number one. Hive number one will be about 225 pages and have Teen Wizard issues one and two in it, so if you already own those books I may work out a system were you can get the book at cost somehow.

A big part of the change has been for two reasons. Number one, the logistics of printing a monthly book have been a gigantic pain in the ass. It made sense when I was going to print them at kinkos and only do about 50 pages, but doing them larger, perfect bound, and through a printer kills about a third of my month that I would much rather be drawing. I intended to ship maybe four or five a week, but at my current rate shipping and keeping track of inventory constantly spirals out of control.

Also, Teen Wizard is a fun name, but I have a lot of content I would like to create that wouldn’t really fit. And if this keep working I would probably feel silly doing a book called Teen Wizard when I am 30.

Hive one and two should be out for comicon san diego, then I am going to go hide in the woods for a month to calm down before getting to work on number three. This year has been constant stress to make deadlines, and I need to see a deer or something.

I love you,

Mike King
